Call for Abstracts – Bethune Round Table 2013

Abstracts are sought for podium and poster presentations in the following four theme clusters:

  • Implications for national health services
  • Implications for NGOs
  • Implications for academic institutions/partnerships
  • Implications for underserved populations including aboriginal communities

In submitting your abstract consider the following questions:

  • What guidelines are used to prioritize initiatives towards improving surgical care delivery?
  • What role can be played in advocating to the national health services?
  • What has worked or not worked –for example, deployment challenges, training challenges etc.?

Abstract Guidelines

  • Abstracts should not exceed 250 words.
  • Please complete all requested information. Abstracts that do not provide all required information will not be considered.
  • Abstracts should be submitted in Microsoft Word.

The 13th Bethune Round Table offers you the opportunity to participate and chat with 150 surgical leaders from all disciplines, academia, NGOs, health professionals and health policy leaders from around the world. The Bethune is the oldest and largest international meeting solely devoted to surgical care in underserved regions of the globe.

THE ORGANIZERS:
The event is organized by Canada’s University of British Columbia’s Branch for International Surgery. The Branch is advancing surgical care in global health through research, engagement and establishing the world’s only academic online program focusing on global surgery. All surgical disciplines including anesthesia are members of the Branch.
