Dr. Erica Frank has received two prestigious global health awards:

  • the first ever Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, from the American College of Preventive Medicine. The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award honors a medical school faculty physician who exemplifies the qualities of a caring and compassionate mentor in the teaching and advising of medical students, and
  • the 2015 Velji Emerging Leader in Global Health Innovation Award, from the Consortium of Universities for Global Health.

Dr. Frank is the Canada Research Chair in Preventive Medicine and Population Health, and a Professor in UBC’s School of Population and Public Health. She is also the Founder, President, and Research Director of www.NextGenU.org the world’s first portal to free, accredited higher education, developed in partnership with leading universities, professional societies, and government organizations, including Grand Challenges Canada, the U.S. CDC, World Bank, and the World Health Organization.
